It may not be but it would be a good idea,not that you would do anything wrong but people can just join and post in that section,never known a forum with such a lax attitude to the classified sales.
Me too. I've posted 'good deals' in the Deals! forum and they fall into moderation for many hours. I don't care for this protection because sometimes I'll want to share deals that only last a day or a few hours. Amazon has some great price dips and lightning deals, but they disappear very quickly. I'd rather risk that we be exposed to spam and get good sales shared by members posted quickly in case someone can grab a good price before it disappears. We could just as well instantly post a good deal in off-topic or in any other subforum, as could the spammers. So what is the point in moderating just the good Deals! forum? Maybe @jdeg can comment and perhaps we could try to police ourselves. Or maybe require some experience points like the marketplace.

I vaguely remember something about posts in the deals section would need mod approval first. The first time I posted in that section, I wound up having to PM someone to find out why. Now I post deals in the shoutbox and/or in a different subforum.
For example, I'm not sure if this is a good deal because I never bought a MAC, but the price seems to be reasonable for one ($1299 for 27" iMac). :indecisiveness:
