So here I am working on a man made waterfall long exposure and my ND and CPL have stuck together. Any tips to get them apart?!?

Well, they do sell filter wrenches for just such an emergency.

Other at-hand solutions include using a rubber band on one of the filters so you can get a better grip. What saved me the other day in a similar situation was an oven mitt that has a rubbery, silicone pad on it. Running them under some hot water might help loosen them up.

Sounds funny and you will look funny, but get you a pair of dish gloves and keep them in your bag. Keep the jokes clean now.

An old trick is to make a gasket to fit between the two filters out of plain paper or very thin plastic film. another old trick is to brush some Vaseline on the threads of the outer filter (extremely thin film of Vaseline! Don't glob it on! LOL).

All the other methods previously mentioned will work, too......except the hammer and chisel one. ;)

Thanks for all of the good suggestions. The rubberband method worked a treat for me. They came right apart, but for the life of me I couldn't get them to come apart by hand!

The sticking together is often made worse by the pressure on the filter when your trying to unscrew them,it can distort one of the filters, another way is to put a microfiber cloth on both sides and put the filters between the flats of both hands and unscrew,if they are large filters its not so good as you need your hands to apply pressure to the metal not the glass.
