Embroidered patches?

Hey ya'll! I now have several camera backpacks and I was thinking of how to mark them as mine without it looking bad or cheap! So I thought embroidered patches that I can sew on with say maybe

might be a good idea! But I was wondering if you knew a good place to have them made? Or if anyone had a better idea, or an addition to this idea that may work better?

I generally try to avoid everything that says "worth money".

Backpacks are pretty easy to steal and the more obvious the content is worth some money, the more tempting the crime.

As far as this goes, my backpacks as is will look like they are worth stealing if they know they have camera gear in them. In getting great packs they show as great packs in my opinion. Dumb of me I'm sure. But all but one of these packs will stay in my house pretty much all the time as they are being used to hold my gear safely stored! :)
So the patches are really only for me, not really to identify them if stolen. But as for identifying them if stolen, I thought of inserting identification in between the layers through the seams maybe. So if asked I could point out how they could tell they are mine. Sigh........

But all in all I know your right my friend.

How about a patch that says "Poisonous Snake Handlers International" and "Warning Live Snakes". :) My dad was fond of saying "people will steal any thing that isn't nailed down". But that is just the lazy ones, the other bring a crow bar.

But really if it just to identify your bag just hang some trinket from one of the zippers.

My dad use to say, that a lock was only really used to help keep an honest man honest. :)
I might do that idea of puting something matching on all the zippers! :)

Sighing................. Maybe I can sorta camp one of them, to make it seem cheap or patched up or covered in some way to disguise it? Hopefully without any permanent changes! I will find another bag that is less boldly high end with my buddy @hark 's help! hark has already helped me pick a model out, and now I just need to find one! It's no long being made so used is my only option, I need to find it when I have the money for it!

But until then and maybe when I need the extra gear, I can disguise a Tamrac expedition 5 so that it is not so tempting? What do you think?

There are 3 places on your bag to cover--the two Tamrac logos as well as Expedition 5. Most likely the only ones who would recognize the words Expedition 5 will be other photographers. And even if you were to cover the Tamrac logos with patches, it would require sewing (which will leave small holes) or using an iron-on patch (which you might not be able to remove). If the bag is something you will keep forever, it wouldn't be a problem; however, if down the road you opt to sell the bag, the marks left by the patches would lower the value of the bag. Just something to consider. :)

No worries about selling my packs, since I don't figure to ever sell them! But no I don't want to seriously change it permanently, though the patch would be fine as long as it didn't cover anything I like up. The one logo patch in the top center could likely be removed without being damaging to it's looks or the bag's integrity! The other two logo model name places might be much harder to disguise, without being permanent! I can remove the embroidery but I couldn't put it back later and it would never look the same again!

But I will consider that option for this one bag..............
