If you were given $5,000 ( Pounds, Euros, Or whatever your local currency ) to purchase Photography Equipment what would you purchase?

Would you buy one big item, or would you get more bang for your buck and get a couple of items?

I would ask for pounds, so I could convert to USD and have more money to play with. :)

For no good reason, I'm lusting over a D810. Don't know why I need one, but it's high on my wish list. That said, I would probably go after augmenting my F/4 lenses with f/2.8s in order to finish out the f/2.8 trilogy of lenses, starting with the 70-200mm and working back wider. Before I jumped on the lenses though, I would probably pick up a few PCB strobes to work with at home though.

Full "on the go" studio lighting kit (~1500.00)
85mm 1.8g prime (~500.00)
105mm 2.8g macro (~800.00)
Tokina 11-16mm Pro II (~480.00)
Tamzooka (~1100.00)
35mm 1.8g prime (~200.00)
Best tripod/head setup I could get for (~400.00)

As you can tell, I'm not horribly driven to go FX right now, and I think with all of the above, I could go nuts with this hobby until it all wore out, or I earned enough to upgrade the body. PLUS, I'd have $20.00 left over for a nice lunch!

I am thinking I would make my purchases as such:

Nikon D7100/D7200 $1000-1400
Nikon 35 mm 1.8 $200
Tamzooka $1100
Good Tripod $400
New Computer $1000

New computer to process all of those images.

Nikkor 300mm f/4 vr £1600
1.4x teleconverter £450
Tokina 11-16mm £300
Tokina 100mm 2.8 macro £255

That accounts for half of it. With the rest I would look into getting something like a Nikon 1 with underwater housing and whatever underwater flash system I'd need. Haven't researched this enough to know costs.
Would also get a top quality tripod and head/heads, and any other accessories like filters etc.I might want.

This is tuff! A good prime or zoom for long range with a TC, and maybe a second D800E, and if I could a good mid range zoom like a 70-200 or a 80-200! Well I just don't know, because I never had that much money.:(

Fuji 14mm f2.8, fuji 90mm f2, Fuji 10-24mm f4, Fuji 16-55 f2.8. With tax, that should take care of the 5k.

Besides I would "love" to fill that China cabinet with great Nikon's! Ooooh what a nice day dream that is! Lol :D

Another camera body?? At this rate there'll be no room for any lenses in that cabinet of yours Bill:D

Well if I had two top of the line Nikon's like you have, maybe I'd be satisfied with just two little measly cameras! Lol But since I have lesser Nikon's I desire more to fill the lack! Lmao ;)
