Quickly threw a video together

Here is a video I quickly threw together of the recent hiking we had done, I hope you can sit through it (9mins) and give me some feedback. Video is definitely not what I am good at but it does show the landscape in a different light, you even get to hear my Aussie accent near the end lol.
@Lawrence I should be right for our epic adventure.

Any feedback welcome.

Beautiful place, peaceful, yet exciting.

I have NO knowledge of shooting video so this comment is purely as a viewer... I see many minutes of the back-ends of the hikers. A few occasional glimpses spliced in from the vantage point of the lead man looking back might be a nice touch so we can see the hikers' faces as they make their way.

I'm jealous of the outdoor activity, temperature was -15F (~ -26C) here this morning.

Yeah I didn't want to bother my friends with stopping etc. But it was something that I was aware of. Will be practising more and will try and get something like that happening :) thanks for looking.

Overall, I'd give it a thumbs up. I liked the stops and slow pans the most, the jerks and fast swings the least. There was one point I was beginning to lean forward as if tipping off balance(might just need more coffee).:)

There was once or twice when the next hiker was blocking a high percentage so maybe a little father back when hiking behind a group.

I could see doing this to document a trip for a group in which it would be good to stage a few shots where you run ahead and let them walk by.

Don't know how planned it was, like laying the camera at an angle for the cool-off-dive, but that was pretty cool.

They make gizmos to smooth out video when walking and you can make one. Even a bit of weight attached to the mount socket will help steady. Course it adds weight.

Enjoyed it.

Nothing was planned all was ad lib, definitely could have smoothed the video out even more in post but didn't see the need. One thing that I did notice is that I need to remove that scarf on my dash when recording through the windscreen or maybe place the camera outside. All is possible when I find the front cover to the water proof case lol.

Well I guess one can find fault if one looks (and I mean that in a nice way) but I would only do that with critical eye and then only on the second and subsequent viewing.
Watching it was just cool and relaxing and it looked very natural.

Overall a big thumbs up.

If you don't mind sharing, what kind of post work you do on video? Brand new to it all, but i'm thinking about a program for basic editing. (PD13 maybe).
