More people getting into film photography?

or is it that more people are buying the film cameras for the old lenses?

I've been on ebay trying to buy a film camera for my daughter... 2 or 3 years ago the cost of an Olympus OM10 with lens was approx £10, and they werent selling... or going for the first bid... now I have tried a few at £25, and been outbid, and there are 10-15 bids on many of the cameras! I'm reluctant to buy a "student" nikon/canon/whatever with auto everything... so I was hoping to pick up a good old camera, but having very little luck.. at this rate the poor girl will be getting nothing for christmas!

Sometimes it looks like they are being bought for the lens, which is understandable i keep being tempted to go back to film for a dabble but like the idea of having roll film again.

Thanks Mike, I'll look later (no fleabay access at work)

I really wish I had bought one last year when she talked about going on this course... or even a few years ago when I still had my Olympus DSLRs.
I forgot how many brands of SLRs there were until I looked and I am generally happy to look into most (basically whatever does the job for her - she can always buy herself a better model after her course has finished if she still enjoys film photography!)... but I'm reluctant to buy a Zenit(h) or a practica as we always had problems with those at my workplace "way back when" but never had issues with the other major players of the day.
