I've been wanting to do this for a while. The move from Verizon to AT&T is saying a lot since I've had my number with Verizon for about 14 years. I had a rare unlimited data plan on Verizon. I don't need it anymore, and they've been selling for a lot lately on ebay. Exactly what I did is outlined here: How-to - Sell your Verizon unlimited data plan & keep your number

It ended up being fairly complicated, since I had to port the number back to Verizon after I initially ported it to AT&T because I didn't switch my Verizon account to a new number quickly enough. Verizon swore that I wouldn't be able to do what I wanted, but I did!

So, In the end I have an extra $300 (from selling the unlimited data), kept my line, got two new phones (Galaxy S4 & iPhone 5s) for $50 and I'm now paying less per month with AT&T. :)

Cool, I have been on AT&T for years and have always had good luck with them. I have 4 iPhones on the account and ave 10GB shared data. WE rarely go over 6 or 7GB since most of us have Wifi where we are all day and night.

Good to hear! I only have 2gb of data. It's rare that I don't have wi-fi.

Good luck with that.
It's already done :)

Forgive me for asking.. $300 for a cell phone line? or is that your annual savings?

I edited and clarified this in the op - this is the amount I sold the unlimited data for. Annual savings come out to about $400.
