Hello Nikonites,

I have joined today and I hope to connect with you in this site. I am also registered in the pentaxforum and have enjoyed the rich information flow there.

I have a very modest Nikon D40, Nikon F3, Nikkor 105mm 2.5, Nikkor E 50mm 1.8, Nikkor E 100mm 2.8, and Nikkor E 36-72mm 3.5.

Cheers.

Hi Shakman,

Glad to have you here. You have one of Nikon's best lenses and cameras in your possession--the F3 and the 105 2.5. Treat them well and they will give you years of happiness!

Hi Pete,

In my last ten minutes of browsing the site, I got the feeling that this is a very friendly group of people. I feel that there is space for 'wanna be amateurs' like me here. I'll be posting some of my shots here for comments and critique. Hope to tap on to the vast knowledge of photography that exists in the forum.

Hi Kenneth,

Thanks, its already feeling good to be here. The F3 and the 105 landed on my lap! Didn't even know what those were when they came to me! While the lens has some fungus in it (from years of idling in a closet), it is still a champion.

I look forward to helpful critique, insights, and the experience of the forum for learning about photography.

I see that some photos have the name of the photographer embedded in the digital photos. Is there a free software available on the web for this? Thanks.

Hello Shakir, welcome to Nikonites, we're glad you stopped in. As far as the name on the photo, many of us use lightroom and the water marring features are there in the program. Almost any of the free photo editing programs allow one to insert text.
