Hello all.
Sorry, I'm recently retired and moved here from Massachusetts, so I haven't quite gotten used to saying 'Hi y'all' yet.
I've owned a D70 for a number of years, and, I admit, never seemed to have the time to learn how to properly use it. Now I have the time, so I upgraded to a D7100. My wife is inheriting the D70.
I am a newbie, and rather than just learning how to navigate the menus, sub-menus, buttons, and all the multiple settings on this wonderful camera - without having a clue as to what they all did - I went to the local library and checked out an excellent book. "Digital Photography - Complete Course". It's not specific to the Nikon, but it does a wonderful job of explaining things like exposure compensation, depth of field, etc, then has pages of 'assignments' - photos taken in different conditions - to reinforce the subject covered. It forces me to go through the Nikon manual to find out how to do what on the camera.
Of course, the book is layed out as a 20 week course. I wonder how much the late fees are going to add up to?
