Hi, I am Joe. New to Nikon dslr. Partially moving over from another brand.
I just picked up a used afs 300 f-4, waiting for my refurb. d7100 to arrive tomorrow.

My Idea of relaxing is taking a hike in the woods with camera in hand. Hopefully I will be doing that Saturday morning.
Looking forward to learning all the idiosyncrasies of my new equipment.:confused:

Hey Joe, Welcome to the forum. I hope to be getting my D7100 next week. Maybe you can give me some tips after your extensive experience with it this weekend. Ha!

Welcome to the forum and to the D7100 club. It is a beast of a camera as many here will testify to. It does take a little getting used to but it i worth the effort to learn.

Welcome to our Nikonites family! I can't claim membership in the D7100, since I traded mine off for a lens! Lol :)
I hope you'll love your new to you Nikon kit as much as I love mine! Your sure starting off higher up on the food chain than I did, with that lens and Nikon combo!lol Big thumbs up on your choices! :frog:

It was a good deal, Probably the only way I could afford to get into Nikon with a good lens.
It was actually my wife's idea for me to switch brands after poor service. I have a lovely wife!!!

Thank you, I have been using pretty much an equal system in a pentax mount.
In between the refurbish deal and kehs 30% off lens deals I really made out well. Otherwise I would have never been able to afford it.
I borrowed my brothers d5100 so I could take one picture withe afs 300. Nikon and I are going to get along just fine!

Thanks, Had an issue without a back autofocus button. It's amazing how you get stuck in your ways.
When I get my camera tomorrow the first thing to do is customize a back af button. I really need it. Joe,
