Eager to learn

Hi All,

My name is Jason, I'm 25 years old from Colombia currently living in Australia, my passion for photography started about 6 months ago, first I bought a compact digital Canon which was on sale, two months ago finally bought a Nkon d3300 (best decision) to start into the DSLR photography, really loving it and with time and dedication, would like to make of it my main Job and Source of income.

I've seen 1000 tutorials on youtube, and read blogs to learn the basics, still learning exposure and lighting specially.

Recently looking for a good budget investment on a speed light for my D3300 have been looking at yongnuo flash 568ex, but not sure if should buy it because so far I understand nikon d3300 doesn't allow high speed sync.

THanks for your thoughts and suggestions.

Welcome to the forum.

No, the D3300 does not do HSS, which would need the D7000 and up.

It won't hurt anything that the capability is there unused, but the YN565EX is less expensive (here in USA), without HSS, but would otherwise do all the same things.

Don't think that because the D3300 doesn't do HSS it's the end of the world. You just have to learn to work around that limitation such as a mild neutral density filter to bring down the overall light to get your camera within the shutter speed it needs for flash.

Welcome and good to see your enthusiasm. Just remember, there are going to be a whole lot of bad pictures and editing to get to your dream.

Howdy and welcome to Nikonites!

I'll second Wayne's suggestion on the YN565EX in order to match up functionality with your camera, or depending on the cost go with the YN568EX so that you have the capability if/when you upgrade bodies later on. Either way, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Thank you all for your answers and warm welcome,

Well after all your suggestion and taking into account, that here in Australia the difference between the 565ex and the 568ex is just $30 dollars I went for the 568ex, Once I master my d3300 I'll upgrade the body.

Kevy73 Two years ago I came to the Sunny Queensland to study, now looking forward to stay permanently AUS is amazing because I can work, and get enough money to live, while having real time to learn... YES!! PHOTOGRAPHY! I hope I can monetize at some point my enjoyment for photography.
