Thought it might be interesting to hear stories about those that "lurked" and then decided to join.

Sort of like:

Why did you lurk?
How long did you lurk?
Did you lurk on any other forums?
What made you decide to join?
Anything else you can tell us all that may be interesting/funny/significant.

As one who didn't lurk at all I have no story. :(

I lurked only long enough to find out i like the atmosphere here.
Always knew photography would be coming back into my life but wasn't sure when (financially).
I close on my place the end of January so that will be when i get started again. It sure is different from my film days that's for sure. And having the ability to share and learn with others on a forum like this is really cool.
The only other forums i'm active in are hunting / food plot / land management. When i jump in i usually stick around so i figured it would be good to check a couple out in the photo realm. Joined dpr and here, but i like it over here :)

I don't remember, but imagine I didn't Lurkalot. Likely read a few threads and joined fairly quick.

Thinking about lurking though and realizing the opposite would be kruling, which should probably be cruling, and likely a reference to crullers, an important staple of the photographers diet. So, it all makes perfect sense.

Didn't know the site existed, but then again i never really looked. As soon as i saw it was exclusively Nikon i signed up straight away. That, and i needed something to pass the time whilst i try to get over this never ending bout of pneumonia

I didn't lurk either.
I came and asked a question. I was impressed with the fact that I got the answer and everyone that answered came across as being nice :D Good enough reason to stay :D

I lurked for a while, I was looking at getting a D3100 and came here to read through the D3100 forum to get an idea of what people made of the camera.... Then I bought the one and joined the madhouse. I still have my "Hello new member" thread in my subscriptions!

I bookmarked this forum right away. I knew that with a D5100, I had a lot to learn. I was impressed with all the pictures posted, and the general atmosphere of Nikonites. Everyone was friendly to say the least! I have learned so much and yet so much more to learn. Thanks to everyone here who has answered and asked questions. They are the teachers. This is like an education for me.

I remember joining 4 years ago, when jdeg first started this site. Since I'm a Nikon fanatic, I thought this would be the ideal forum for me. :) I'm glad I stuck around and have been able to (hopefully) help some along the way. It truely is a friendly forum.

I lurked for about a week and then joined just over a year ago.
I also lurked on a few other sites but never joined as they didn't come across as friendly and helpful as this place.

I was looking around the website for a few days before I joined,
Glad I joined, really like looking at the pictures people post, inspiration and ideas I can use,

And most of all, the friendly and helpful people on here :)
