I am Jerry currently "stationed" in South Korea and I will be moving to Virginia Beach in the next few months. I am in love with photography and a bit of a gear head. I fell into the trap of buying too much stuff and I have ZERO ides what I am doing. Anyhow I just discovered this site and this place seems AWESOME.. I hope to learn and grow and share as much as I can here :)

Cheers :)

Welcome Jerry. During the 80's I was also stationed in South Korea. I was a part of the 2nd Infantry Division, at Camp Stanley.

Welcome Jerry, I was also staioned in South Korea. I was also part of the 2nd Infantry Division, and I was also at Camp Stanley. I was there for all of 1998 though. That is weird...

Howdy and welcome to Nikonites! Don't worry if you have too much gear, @Bill16 does a pretty good job of working out deals to buy everyone's excess gear, so it'll get sorted out shortly. :)

Thanks for your service and hope your trip back stateside is quick and uneventful!

Wow! So, you know "Songson." I'm not sure of the proper spelling, but I was referring to the village just outside of the gate. :D I was a medic in the 2nd Medical Battalion Aid Station. I drove an ambulance.

Jerry, Welcome to Nikonites and with all of us who have been stationed in South Korea (Camp Humphreys for me 1971-72) we may have to start a new forum subject. Ha! I actually bought my first SLR camera while in Korea- A Minolta SRT101 -- Good old AFEES.
