Hello From the Pacific Northwest
Saying a quick hello from the Olympic Peninsula, directly across from Seattle Washington.
I have lived in the Pacific Northwest for 20 years, although my travels take me to many other regions, climates and beautiful areas.
My camera of choice currently the Nikon D300, which I have shot with now for the past two years, prior to that I put my D70 through the paces and still use my tried and true D70 as my backup cam. Going strong as ever!
My interest in photographing varies a great deal. As for natural scenery tropical climates interest me greatly and so does the natural beauty of my own back yard~ The Pacific Northwest. Rugged as it is.
I spend a lot of time in the Hawaiian Islands, where my interest in photography was used to help promote Hawaiian Music Artists for a number of years. I have hosted a Fan Appreciation website for entertainer/singer Danny Couch for over 10 years. www.dannycouchfanaddicts.com This association helped to spur an interest in low light and concert/special event photography, which to this day has been a primary interest of mine. I have been fortunate to have photographed many well known musical artists, and now friends hailing from Hawaii. A very special place to do photography in general.
I have a varied interest in many subjects to put my focus on. Scenic photography, due to extensive travel both by land and sea which has provided a specialized travel type of technique to my features. I also have an interest in classic cars, due to a love of classic 'Early Tbirds' firsthand as a restorer and enthusiast, therefore focusing on car show and custom automobile features. I have a love for animals, and getting a pet in front of my camera is a true joy and very rewarding.
I do have a full studio, therefore portraits, wedding and special event photography is a calling. Green screen has enabled me to vary my clients and open avenues for many other possibilities. Weddings are not my favorite subject matter however although provides funding for my many other interest and bad habits.
I have been shooting with Nikon cameras for the last 10 years. Prior to that Sony digitals were my break in to digital photography. Until then I was a devoted film lover.. Yep old school! I have worked with Canon most of my life with multiple 35mm cameras, Mamiya Medium format 4x5 Twin Lens Reflex's (film) was a primary interest of mine and still is. I still have a passion for old school and darkroom work. I worked with my father and brother as a youngster either in front of the lens or behind it. They instilled in me the basics and I now try to carry on their legacy, which originated with Bellows studio photography (still have the cameras to prove it too. LOL Speed Graphics and prior)
I hope to meet many of you here on the forum and perhaps get to know you better as well. I look forward to a long association here.
Respectfully, Lea
