Nikon F2AS w/ MD-2, MB-1 & AS-1
Black 1977 Nikon F2AS Photomic body with MD-2 motor drive, MB-1 battery pack, two (2) MS-1 "AA" battery holders, MF-3 auto-stop back and AS-1 flash shoe. Take a close look at the pictures. This camera is in fantastic condition! It is rare to find a black F2AS complete with motor drive and MF-3 in this condition. Everything on this camera, motor, meter, battery check lights on both the prism and battery pack and the auto-stop back are 100% functional. The meter is very accurate. Quite often in cameras of this age (37 years) the meter no longer works. Also many MB-1 battery packs are missing the MS-1 "AA" battery holders due most often to batteries being left in them, leaking and causing corrosion. The MF-3 auto-stop back automatically stops the power rewind and leaves the end of the film leader out. The built-in thumb grip on the back provides a secure grip for this heavy beast. The F2AS is considered by many to be the pinnacle of Nikon (and perhaps all 35mm SLR) cameras. Black bodies typically exhibit "brassing" or a wearing-off of the black paint revealing the brass metal below. Take a close look at the images and you will see only the very slightest of brassing around the right (grip side) strap lug. These were professional cameras and few survive today in this condition, especially complete with motor and auto-stop back. The Nikon logo on the prism is bright white. One of the worst things that often happen to "collector" cameras is that they do not get used and lubricants dry, shutter speeds as a result are no longer accurate, and the camera is no longer usable. I am a shooter, not a collector. This camera has been used regularly (though not much as you can tell from the condition). It pains me to sell it, but recent medical issues prevent me from carrying such a heavy camera as this, and I don't want it to just sit on my shelf. I will only ship to confirmed U.S.A.
