Folks i have a D5300 with a 18 - 140mm lens what would be the best camera settings for shooting Christmas lights in the local town?

When ever I shoot night shots using a tripod is absolutely necessary. I also choose a low ISO like 200, f8 and let the camera dictate what shutter is needed. Of course all these settings are based on low wind, no moving objects in the frame and so on. So if needing to increase the shutter speed know the limitations of your camera as far as Noise and how far you can push it as far as increasing the ISO. And if DOF is a concern adjust accordingly. Just experiment.
