Post you Flickr explored photo's

I know quite a few on here use Flickr to upload and share their work and whilst reading Backdoor Hippie's 365 he said he had one of his pictures Explored on Flickr. So has anybody else been Explored on Flickr?
For those that don't know Flickr, Explore is a computer algorithm that picks the most "interesting" 500 photographs of the day that have been uploaded to the site. It does not pick technically the best photographs but it looks at how many people have viewed, commented or added you photograph as a favourite.
I have had 12 photographs added to Explore in the last 12 months or so and although I know it doesn't mean I take the best photographs in the world it is still a great feeling to get your photo included and usually means it gets thousands of views.
Here's a couple of my Explored photos.

So has anybody else got Explored pictures to show us?

Very nice... Not me.. Most of mine likely do not even get viewed as I do not "promote" them much.

Good Work and Congrats!

Nope. I have no desires nor hopes to get published. I use it since it is much easier to post images on most websites including here.

After almost 3 years on Flickr not even knowing what the heck Explore was, let alone how photos were selected to be displayed, I wound up with 2 shots in 8 days, all without tagging anything, and having next to no followers (though that has changed). The first was a macro shot I didn't like enough to want to put it up, but my wife wanted some of her friends on a bird site to see it so I did. I still don't like it (it was my first snowflake effort) because I know it's not representative of my best work. The frozen bubble shot was a different story, but I put this up for me and not for the Flickr community at large. Purely out of curiosity I did some reading on how shots are chosen and after learning how to stack the deck (i.e. what subject matter gets chosen most often, how to tag, how notes do/don't play a part, social interaction about the photo, etc.) it just made my head explode. Heck, I suspect that the first image getting chosen had more to do with @Teerecks and I having a conversation about it in the comment section and flagging it for someone to look at.

I think getting chosen is great, if only because it exposes your work to more people, and for me if there's been something cool about having some pics selected it's not about those photos but about the comments I've gotten on the rest of my shots from people who saw something in the Explore photo that they liked enough to want to check out the rest of my work - particularly when I see the quality of theirs. But then I realize that your social interaction with other photographers on the site is something that raises your awareness level in the Explore engine and pop my own bubble.

The same thing holds for 500px when all of a sudden one of your shots goes "Popular" and all of a sudden you get a flurry of comments from all sorts of people, along with a request to check out their stuff. I stopped caring when I started seeing the exact same spray of comments from 5 different photographers on all 3 photos that I uploaded one night, including one about how marvelous the color treatment was on a black and white.

Sorry, I should really just delete this because it's going to sound like I'm putting it all down. I'm not. Like I said, it's great to know that others appreciate your work, even if it's only after some set of program criteria flagged it for potential recognition. I care far more about what some people here think than what the Flickr community at large does. But most of all it's about what I like, because that's who I do it for. And I still am amazed when I get it right - and that anyone one else thinks I did too. LOL

The fact that I've never been notified about my photos being on Explore tells me that I've had ZERO on it. siggghhh... maybe one day. It would be cool.

Flickr doesn't actually inform you that your photo has been added to Explore, seems strange to me as well, I only knew my first photo had been chosen from some of the comments that people made. You can look on your account stats and see from the referrers section that your photo has been viewed from Eplore.

Easy sharing was the reason I started using Flickr in the first place. I organise a model aircraft public display and needed to put pictures up on web sites, Facebook etc to promote the event. Now I also put up my favourite pictures and enjoy seeing other great shots that are posted by contacts I have made on the site.

@BackdoorHippie agree with a lot of what you say, some people do put up comments about your photos that are just copy and paste and suspect they are just looking for you to reciprocate and post something about theirs, but as you say when other people who create some great work look through yours and leave good constructive comments it's a great feeling to think your doing something right!
Ps, where's your frozen bubble shot? :)

Great capture @adox66, do you agree it's a great feeling to get Explored?

Gorgeous. Yeah it is a great feeling. It's mainly seeing the views fly up on your image, over 1000+ which is great. I have those two in total explored in my 10 months of photography and am delighted.
We have a girl in our photography group who with an entry level Canon DSLR and kit lens regularly gets her images explored. Mind you she is an artist by trade, so I'm sure that helps.

Thanks, I know the feeling, the church photo in my first post got nearly 10,000 views!

I do not have that problem... do not use flickr that often and mostly get zero to 4 views... :)
