Yes it is. Also known as Parhelia. See them quiet often down in cornwall. They occur 22' away from the sun. I got my first double one this year ie on both sides of the sun. They are much rarer. I put an image of it on here a while back.

Nice. I took a couple pictures of what I believe to be one as well when I was in VA. I'll need to post it for opinion as well.

That blew my mind! Thanks for the link.... Wow I am very amused... I will keep an eye on them, I find the the sun here is very low in comparison from my homeland.
