The sun was shining and it was a balmy 36º degrees at the top of the world! Great beach weather!

Wow, you're really far north. Say hello to Santa for us!

I have cousins in Anchorage, but that's like Florida weather compared to where you are.

Great shots buddy! But I don't think I'd be tempted to go swimming there! Lol :p

I am repeatedly asked "when are you going to do the polar bear challenge?" And my response is "when hell freezes over!" Probably a bad choice of words in this part of the world!

Very nice. I was stationed in Fairbanks for four years when I was in the Army. I would have loved to have gone to Barrow. You are very lucky. Enjoy the rest of you r time there.

There really is nothing here. Barrow is small (4500 people) and there is really nothing here except the Artic Ocean. But the hospital where I am working is brand new, which is a bonus for me!

Superb shot ! hooting into the sun is actually what is needed or can’t be avoided. Perhaps when photographing an event that you have no control over, or maybe you want to capture that lovely ‘back-light’ glow around the edge of someone’s hair when shooting a portrait. On these occasions we need to help the sun out a little and provide some extra light. This can be done in two simple ways.
