For me it's the drawings. seems some details are added and some removed to make the image more attractive (for me that is).

Gil Elvgren was pretty good...I have a ton of his stuff (reproduction) but the master of all that pin up/cheesecake/beefcake stuff was Vargas who didn't use a camera! Ironically his father was a pro photographer who started the son off with an airbrush at a young age. Vargas went backwards photography, airbrush retouch, pen and brush/airbrush...

Wow. The first thing that comes to mind...I was a youngster and browsing (aka snooping) through my grandpa's junk drawer one day. Couldn't have been older than 10 or 12. I came across a deck of naughty playing cards that had images just like these.

Someone on here posted some 1950's pinup style shots that were pretty good. Whatever happened to that guy?
