Sunshine State here I come, hopefully to stay

I have not had much in the way of opportunities to do any photography in Nantucket, and let's face it, there is not really all that much to photograph here. I am leaving here in a week and a half and headed back to the Sunshine State. I have a contract in Tallahassee that begins on Feb 15. Talli is 2 1/2 hours from home and both of my daughters still live there. My shift will be 8 10 hour days on and 6 days off. That will give me time to spend with my daughters as well as go home.

We did get hit with the "beeg stahm he' ahn tha raaack" (translation "big storm here on the rock (Nantucket)) last weekend. We were fortunate in that we only -got about 8" of snow. I did see this right outside our front door. Sometimes you can find a strong graphical image in the seemingly most mundane of things. As the ice started to melt on a power cable into our cottage, it began to sag. I have never seen this before so I grabbed the D300 and 80-200mm f/4 and took this image. No polarizer needed, the sky was that blue. B&W made the image just that much more graphically interesting.
