Question about an unusual shape pic for canvas?!?!

Ok so I did a newborn shoot for a friend the other day and I want to get them a picture on a canvas ... Sounds simple so far ...

Problem I have is the unusual rectangle shape, its a very long pic

Here is the pic in question :

Coby (36 of 96).jpg

Now exporting it from Lightroom, at the moment I have it exported at 4616 x 1449.

How do I now work out what size that is for a canvas? I've never had to worry about sizing before when doing prints and canvas as they are "Standard" size.

I think I would go back to a more standard wide ratio and use white vignetting to fill the extra space. Just my opinion but this crop doesn't look right, too compressed at the top and bottom. You are also going to need wider margins for the canvas wrap anyway.

Thankyou for the reply. I wanted to go wider but silly me ! When I shot it it was actually on an angle to the camera and I wasnt happy with the composition when looking at it in editing so this is as close to a panorama I can get the photo without losing his feet :(

I wasnt sure on the composition of the crop either but when I showed it to my friend she fell in love with it so I am going to go with it ...

After doing some searching I cant seem to find anyone that will do the print on a canvas so I have decided to go with a normal print and frame it for her :)
