Cheap Cokin type filters or screw thread

I want to get a ND filter for my 18-70mm lens. I cannot afford to get the more expensive makes so am a little unsure as to what to get. I can get a set like this Ex-Pro 6 Square G.ND2 4 8 Filter set 49 - 82mm - for Cokin P-Series holder LF6 | eBay. Or get a single 67mm filter. If I get a single screw thread one which would be a good starter ND filter? I was also looking at this one Hama 67mm 67 ND2-ND400 Vario ND Variable Neutral Density Camera Lens Filter | eBay.

Any help would be appreciated

I love the Cokin setup, but you have to be careful with them as the are plastic. If you don't mind fumbling with them, I think they are a good way to go (especially if you have several different sized lenses).

I love the Cokin systems... I have the cheap ones, and I have the Official Cokin ones... the only difference I've ever been able to tell between them is, the Cokins have the density/model numbers engraved/stamped on them...
