These are shots of the two memorials that the citizens of Chattanooga and surrounding areas have set up to honor those fallen soldiers who were shot on the 16th of July this year.
These images are way over due and I feel somewhat ashamed that I have just now gotten around visiting these sites.

Comments are welcome, however I would like to ask that you do not bring politics into this thread. This is a memorial in pictures. Please respect my wishes. Thank you.

I have about 17 shots, so I will break them up into two parts.
The first part is the memorial on Lee Highway where the shooting started. Here is a Wikipedia write up.

I would also appreciate if one of the mods could make this a sticky for a while. @Don Kuykendall or maybe @jdeg

The first shot is of the recruiting center where the first round of shootings took place. It is boarded up now.

Yep its a mess up world we live in now and has been since
they started having shootings around the country in the postal service.
This past thursday in Lafayette,Louisiana, they had a shooting at the local theater
killing two and left nine others wounded. So So Sad.

Great shots mate and what a sad day. Way too many people being killed all around the world.

Thanks Scott. I just noticed that I typed the date wrong in my thread title. It was the 16th and not the 15th. Maybe a mod like Don Kuykendall could fix it for me.

Thanks of posting your photos. I just watched the news coverage of the funeral for Lance Corporal Wells on television. We need to remember these fine men, and the other fine men and women who honorably serve in our thoughts and prayers, as well as all of their family members.

We have a son who has 16 years of service in the Army. He has been deployed at least 4 times, and I was begging him to request for his next assignment, a recruiting station where he wouldn't have to worry about his safety so much. So much for that theory. He ended up in Germany instead, where he'll be for the next few years until he is almost ready to retire. We're all counting down the days until he finally gets out. This shooting was insane. The shooter didn't even respect that the fine soldiers he was firing at were defending his freedom. I have no sympathy for the idiot that shot these soldiers.

To sticky, go to community store and you can purchase a sticky for 5000 points. I believe that's how it's done. People can donate points to you if you want to do it.
