Dang, I didn't read that memo. Had I known I needed to be a quality conscious expert or professional, I had passed on the D810.

I started with the D3300 and it is one hell of a cam for the little money it costs. Sure it is entry and you'll upgrade it faster than most of the others but to get your feet wet, I'd advise it to anyone.

That's exactly the model I recently purchased from, of all places, a pawn shop. I having a ball learning with it. Just figured out how and what 'back button focus' is. Have a couple of classes at my local camera shop under my belt. And I have a Sigma 150-500mm lens on the way to start getting those great bird shots (with patience and time) I see here.
