The questions you get asked.

I was in the local park this afternoon taking pictures, a middle aged couple walking through the park asked me, what are you taking pictures of?

So I answered with a question, what do you see?

They looked at each other, and the man said, its just a field, I asked the lady, what do you see? she replied, Grass and a tree.

I replied, do you not see the sky and clouds, the green of the grass and the yellow buttercups, and the tree in flower, they kind of looked at me as if I was mad :)

I don't think they could see what I could see.

One thing that has amazed me since joining this site is how something that can be overlooked can be turned into such a great photograph. I like it.

LOL...I had a similar incident.

Years ago, I was sitting at an amusement park in Pennsylvania with my parents and my aunt and uncle, and I happened to have my D70 with me, so I took this shot:

Knoebels_gears.jpg

My uncle: "What are you taking a picture of?"
Me: "The gears and mechanism."
Him: "Why are you taking a picture of that?"

Uh, because it was interesting? I see it's not a great shot, but I thought the gearing was interesting.

(Side note: There's a water wheel that turns a shaft that makes the entire dome rotate slowly. You can see the shaft coming in from the right.)

(Side note 2: Also, geez, that was apparently before I learned about post-processing pictures. Mine probably won't be the background for a weather report any time soon.)
