"Lucy" is an older, but very vivacious, beagle that lives a few doors down and my services have been requested to do some photography of her and her person. This is a paid gig, I've not done pet photography before and I'm not really sure where to start learning how. I would appreciate any guidance... Anything at all.

Didn't @wud post a tutorial where she shared some of her amazing insight into this topic? To the Search bar!!

Okay, maybe don't hit... Maybe just tap me or something.
Found your tutorial! :D

Definitely some things in there I would never have thought of, like the signals the dog might give off.

And yes, if you don't mind, I might gently tap your shoulder once I've had a chance to talk to Lucy's person to find out more about what she wants and expects out of the shoot. I feel so lucky to have someone with your talent to run some quesions by; so thank you for that!

When you talk to her, also ask what they do with the dog. And if it can be without leash.

Whatever they do with their dog, try to imaging how that could look good on an image.

Most people also want pictures of everybody, the you could get the people to sit on something and get the dog up there too, so they are close to each other (and the dog can't leave as easily lol). Same for portraits of the dog, place them on a table or whatever ;)

Can't wait to see your images! Beagles are sooooo cute.
