Snow Storm

Hope you guys and ladies are all OK. Have been watching the news here in France. We usually get what you get but 3 weeks later.

I'm about 200 miles from the coast. It started snowing here about 9:30 AM. The wind is ferocious and it's about 7°F, so most of the snow is blowing and drifting. I haven't had the need to worry about any snow removal yet. I've just been sitting here snapping shots of the chickadees and a bashful Cedar Wax-wing at the suet box. Newscasts say the storm is much worse near the coastal region and that some places already have about 18" of snow. We are expecting 4-8" here.

I'm about 30 miles from the coast, and 90 miles NE if NYC. We were supposed to receive 24" - 36". Only 6" - 8" here, and just a bit of wind. Nothing major. Here are a few quick shots of my street and storage shed in the backyard. Just another average snowfall here. Nothing special.

At one point they forecast 24" for this area then lowered that amount to 18". We wound up with 4". The meteorologists are apologizing left and right on this one! Originally they only called for 1-3" then all of a sudden they announced this massive blizzard. Glad to hear people who are further north didn't get as much either. :)

I will attempt to find my Ford Ranger pickup in the AM......

Travel ban in place no where to go anyway. Not even sure if the road has been plowed......

Good news tho did not lose power which I nearly always do in storms like this.....so a lot of old stuff on the DVR is getting purged!

Found it, and got it out. Maybe go skiing today, no work.

Top 10 storm single snowfall event in these parts....but not Snowmageddon!

Poodle as you can see wants out. Not happening.....

Sounds like you in the US are having the same "weather Forecasting " as we got post the "great Hurricane

A well known UK weather man said on AIR "there will be no hurricane tonight" and well there was next best thing record winds millions of trees down some blocking roads for days in some cases

Since then I think most go with the worst case just in case

Well, they got this one right. The storm covered 23 states with anywhere from 8" to 2'+ of snow, in bitter cold, with more cold air coming in after the storm. I cleared foot of snow last evening in 4 degree F. The temp on my way to work this AM.....

Not quite a year later and nothing but a very few flurries so far this year. It's 62 degrees right now and I'm loving it. Thank you El Niño.
