Tokina 16-28 Update

i have now had a few chances to take this lens out and shoot it. Most of the time when I get a new lens I put it on and do a couple of test shots and then sit down and fine tune it to my D750. I shot this one and decided it needed nothing. I have shot it several time now and I must say it is sharp as a tack. I find it staying on the camera most of the time this week. Here are a few shots from the week

I always loved the 11-16 on the D7100 and that was one reason I decided to buy this lens for the D750. Hard to compare the 2 since one is DX and one is FX.
I also have the 11-16 on my D7100, and love it. I thought the 16-28 on fx would give a pretty similar fov, so you could sort of compare them. I read all the reviews I could find on this lens a few months ago, because I have been contemplating a D750 in the future, but I don't have any wide fx lenses and could probably sell my DX lenses to fund this one if I do decide to jump.

I think the 11-16 on the D7100 might be sharper. However the D7100 doesn't have an OLPF. I'm really thinking of having it removed from my D750 if I manage to score a D500 without having to sell the D750.

I don't have a 16-28 , but my 100mm Tokina was sharper on my D7100 then on my D750.

I don't know about that. I zoomed in on some of my city skyline photos and the detail was fantastic.

Ok, that's interesting, thanks. If I do end up buying a D750, I will keep the D7100 for my macro stuff. From what I have seen, the 150-600 will alternate between the 2 bodies depending on how much available light there is.
Sorry for the thread hijack Don. If you want we could move this stuff to a different thread.
