Nikon 28-105???

Reviews on this lens look pretty positive, and they are priced in my budget. What is yall's thoughts on putting one of these on my D7100?

I have one of those. Its a pretty sharp lens. Works great on my D7100. Although it says its a macro lens, it is really only a half macro. It wont give you 1:1 reproduction. 1:2 is what youll get.

Also the Macro switch is a bit of a PIA sometimes. You have to play with it to get it out of macro mode.

I bought it for macro use, but si,nce Im now looking to get a full 1:1 lens, I might be willing to part with mine.

Yes it is actually a fantastic lens and your right its a lens that can be found for some great prices. Its a very sharp lens with macro it' always been consider one of those unknown gems.
I have one and will sometimes use it.

I bought mine new with my F80, but I still use it today on my D90 & D7000, it's a cracker of a lens, yes, it only gives you 1:2 in macro mode, which isn't a problem for the butterfly photography I do
