Was considering a split focus and referred to KatzEye. They have posted that their doors are closed to business.

Anyone have suggestions?

Google doesn't help me to get the meaning of that thread
Katz Eye manufactured replacement focusing screens for DSLR's; some of which duplicated the "split focus" screens used in film cameras in the days before auto-focus.

I thought about getting one a time or two but never really got around to it.

Now the company is out of business it seems.

I've been buying from Focusing Screen and got very good service. They have focusing screens for most Nikons DSLRs. In order to improve manual focusing, I think a third party focusing screen is essential. For my Df, the focusing screen that I got from the above site was a nikon F modified (for size I suppose) screen. For my D700, D7000 and D600 they were made by canon.
