Is this close?(calibration)

I wanted to do a quick test of my new Tamron and since I have never done a calibration before I don't want to screw it up without asking first. I know I probably should use a darker book, and I know I blew out the book but I wasn't concerned with perfect exposure. The ruler is at a 45 (or as close to a 45 by my eye) and the book is horizontal to the 6 inch mark. So do I need to go back or forth, it looks pretty close to me and on the camera is back negative numbers and forward positive numbers?

That focus looks pretty spot on to me. I might try -1, or -2, just to see what that looked like though...

Negative numbers move the point of focus closer to the lens, positive numbers move the point of focus away from the lens.

Remember that you should have a bit more DOF behind than in front. Considering that, I'd say go +2-4. It's just a question of trial and error but it does get finicky. :)
