Firmware?

I've read quite a few threads that ask why this or that doesn't seem to work anymore. Surprisingly after they updated the firmware. Hmmm. I've always stayed clear of doing such an upgrade simply because of all the problems that may or may not occur. How many of you update the firmware on your cameras and why?

Yes, because they fix things and/or add features that didn't work or exist... although, when released, you can generally read through the documentation for the update, and make a decision whether it affects you and whether you should apply the update...

Of course... if don't apply an update for a particular reason, and a subsequent update then adds something you want... You really have a decision because the latest update will include whatever was in the previous updates...

It's best to apply the update as they become available. This is Nikon, not Microsoft, and you're not doing a Windows update...;)

I've not had a single issue after updating the firmware on any of my Nikon's... Ever. I can't think of a single reason NOT to have the latest firmware.

So now I'm curious as to how many updates cause issues as opposed to not. I only say this as I read a thread a few hours ago about in issue with a camera function after an update. Of course here I think I have more chances of hearing about a bad update because that person is asking about an issue they feel was caused by an update as opposed to reading a thread about a good experience from one.
