Hello Super Newby. You and I have already exchanged several posts on this hobby. Oh, your not really overwhelmed are you? Nah, maybe just a little bit intimidated? Take it one small step at a time and before you know it you will be the expert and showing everyone else how to do it. You just have to remember it's fun learning and a challenge to take the next step. Learning to control ISO, aperture, and shutter speed is easy. Nikon has made it one of the easiest functions on the camera to learn and use. No kidding. This is not the forum or thread to go into how its done so I think I will start a new thread in the D90 forum with a basic explanation. I also would not say you'll never go pro. Your profession and photography mixes very well. Many years ago (don't ask) I had a friend of mine transfer into my national guard army photo unit. Never used any thing but a Kodak box camera before in his life. His day job was at a hospital as an orderly. To make a long story short he learned to use the army photo equipment, started taking pictures for the doctors and nurses, then started shooting for the hospital, got so busy they hired someone else to help him and wound up the head of a staff of photographers and photo lab personnel with all the modern day equipment he needed. Have fun using your D90.
