This morning I sold all of my Fx gear. I've thought about this for some time and After a 6 mile hike with all my Fx gear I decided I had allowed my gear to become too cumbersome. Going back to Dx was not an option as there is little size savings since I want pro glass. I've really enjoyed the Nikon 1 system (which I am keeping) and mirrorless in general. In looking at glass for all of the mirrorless options, no one compares to what Olympus is putting out for the m4/3 rds system. While the sensor is slightly smaller than Dx, the pro glass is significantly smaller. I'm starting out with the E-M1 body and 12-40mm 2.8 pro lens (24-80, the crop factor is exactly 2). For simplicity in this thread, I'll refer to Oly lenses in Fx equivalent. While DoF will be deeper, I'll enjoy faster shutter speeds using wider apertures (this will be a huge bonus for my HDR shots). Oly will be releasing the 80-300 2.8 in November and I'll have that pre-ordered. In 2015 the 14-28 2.8 will be released and that will complete my trinity of pro m4/3 glass. Now the waiting game :), much more to come....,
