A couple of things come to mind about their online training you can pick up much of the same on YouTube webinars that almost do the same (example like Joe Brady Sekonic , Color Checker Passport, Anne Rost on Lightroom, OnOnePhoto10) and most of the time I will download the video and watch them later on the TV. His books are good but and there always a but as he does give shortcuts but not the kind I would recommend. In the last Elements class I taught we used his book and in it it was constructing a flyer for a Golf outing; with the three layers he was erasing pixels. I don't want to sound like those bleeding hearts that protest on killing pixels so I showed the students my way of using masks and gradients. In the same chapter he did a bridal page and again he layered three images but I then showed the way I would have done it; by using a clipping masks and could use as template by replacing any images; why reinvent the wheel. Thats the stuff I learned from other books and webinars. I think they widen their curriculum too much and did not keep their focus (no pun) on the basics. I prefer the longer videos than the short takes too a click on the next small video to watch and its a little agrevating while on an exercise bike having to pick up a mouse to go to the next video. At least it keeps my weight in check! Lou Cioccio
