i'm a beginner, so this will be my first slr. my friend has the nikon 'd3000' & i'd say its pretty easy to use. the only thing thats made me consider buying the d5000 is the live view &its ability to record movies. i take videos occasionally, but the main purpose of buying a slr is to take images.
