I wanted to take a long exposure shot of the ocean to get smooth water but also have crisp, shadowy, ominous storm clouds.
Since a long exposure shot would make both the water and and the clouds look "creamy" I had to combine a short exposure and a long exposure.

I took on a free gig doing headshots for a friend's dance team. It didn't go as smoothly as I would have liked. First round of shots were BADLY out of focus. I realized it before leaving and had them do a 2nd round, which was better, but still not right.

She just turned 87 this week and we had a party. She suffers from advanced dementia and I felt like this photo kind of captured the world from her perspective - hazy, yet somewhat familiar.
I just got back from a trip to California and I brought my D7000 along. I just got Lightroom 4 for Christmas and didn't really start using it until this trip. Really makes a difference, I think.
Any tips on how to make this one better?
