Envigado, Colombia. Our driver claimed that there was a 50% chance that these saddle bags contained yucca and a 50% chance that they contained coca paste. My own opinion: our driver was playing around with us...but who knows. :cool:
The original town of El Peñol is somewhere beneath these lake waters. The area became the favored country-estate area for Medellin's elite--politicians, professionals and mafiosi.
The town of El Peñol in Colombia was purposely flooded during the construction of a hydro-electric dam some twenty-five years ago. About a decade ago, it's former residents constructed this half-scale replica of the town center. It's located in the mountains above the original site.
