My "emergency" diffuser in case I don't have a flash is the LumiQuest Soft Screen. I've even used it with a macro lens with pretty good results.

Merc recommended one above which I haven't used, but I do know quite a few folks that use LumiQuest products and are happy with them.

I use it for a number of applications, from product photography to weddings and functions. It is a great tool to have in your bag.

Yes, I have bought a lot of stuff from there. I must say the service is as good as the prices. Very happy dealing with that company.
You will not be disappointed ordering through them. I have been happy with every item, and they have followed up after every order to make sure I was happy :).

Well I posted it long time ago, under the flash thread, but it seemed like only Jack picked up on it. It works great and creates a very nice softer light. It cost like $3.00
and takes only a few minutes to custom fit it to your speed light. Looking at Jack's, he did a very nice job (like the gasket around the opening).

The red gasket around the opening is silicon tubing split down one side and glued in place by CA (model crazy glue, only much stronger). Works very well and gives a nice soft finish on any indoor shot, as it spreads the light around all over the subject. The globe only cost me a dollar at Dollarama. :)

I got the idea when I was looking for a diffuser and saw at the photo shops the prices ($30.00). I was at the dollar store and I saw these dome shaped containers.
So I bought one and set to work fitting it to my speed light. I have been using it ever since. I am really glad to see someone else has tried it and is happy with the results. It looks great Jack, good job with the finishing touches :).
