Confused about flash models (Yongnou YN-568 EX II vs. YN-568 EX).

I own a Nikon camera, and I was looking to buy a Nikon compatible version of the Yongnou 568 flashgun. For some reason, I cannot seem to find any sellers selling the MkII version (YN-568 EX II) for Nikon mount. All I can find for Nikon mount is the standard YN-568 EX version. Do they make the Mk II version for Nikon, or is the YN-568 EX II only available for Canon mount?

I was wondering about the mk II as well, but never took the time to research until your post prodded me into doing something. :)

Based on this article, Yongnuo officially announces YN568EX II, first master-enabled flashgun | Lighting Rumours , the Nikon version was expected sometime after the Canon version. Like you saw, when I tried searching through different sellers, I did not come up with any hits for a Nikon variant. My guess is that Yongnou has not yet released the Nikon model update.

Thanks for the reply, Charlie.

From what I have been able to gather so far, the only difference between the EX and the EX II is that the EX II adds the master control function as well as slave function which allows the EX II to be able to trigger other flashes. There's also a slight difference in labelling on the buttons.

there is no 568II for nikon. only canon. im skeptic if there will be. I asked yongnuo last year through facebook and was given a reply that its in testing phases. this was about 9 months ago. I think it was just fluff.

consider shanny as well

SHANNY – Flash & Trigger Models | FLASH HAVOC

Shanny SN600n Flash Review

I had the 568 and it isnt at all accurate in I/ttl and I had the 565 and gave that away to my GF daughter because it has a big problem with reliablity with their 622n slaves and not firing many times. I cant have that problem in my stressed times when Im shooting family formals and the gear must work so I got rid of it. their 560III/IV are great for manual power flash btw.
