SB-N7 Flash power drain?

Hey you Nikon 1 mirrorless camera users! Has any of you ran into this issue? My SB-N7 flash seems to be draining my flash batteries! I'm using the enloope Panasonic pro batteries that should hold a charge for a year without issues! Well I put them into the flash, and after sitting a week or two they are dead!

The Flash is on the camera, so maybe somehow that is causing them to drain?

Hmmm. Is there anybody in the house, besides me that is, that has this model of flash for their Nikon 1 mirrorless camera?

I've never seen the flash. I assume you are sure that you had the flash turned off? Hard to imagine that being off could drain the batteries? I think I would repeat the test again, to be sure all you believe to be true, is true. :)

It could be the batteries held very little charge when I installed them, since I installed them strait from receiving them. I have a freshly charged set in there now, so I'll see how it goes this time.
I asked because I had no such issues with my sb-800 with batteries installed the same way, strait from the mailed package I mean.
But different seller, and different size can both be the difference in results.

It just stuck me as odd with Nikon gear is all. Mostly Nikon gear has been very easy on rechargeable batteries and battery packs for me so far! :D

Eneloops are not fully charged in the package. They do have a significant initial charge, I'd guess maybe about 70% (?), and unlike others, they can still retain it during the shelf life, to work out of the package, but they were not fully charged.

Then most likely it was my error somehow. Lol It's a great little flash for the V1, and I just leave it attached since it's so small and has that Cool looking factor to consider! Lol ;)

I almost bought a second one that was being sold at the same time, since I was loving this one. But I couldn't think of any way to justify buying it, since I could only use one! Lol :)

Well anyway I think it was my error, but I'll keep an eye on it and see what,if anything, happens down the road. :)

Thanks my friends! :D

I've had mine for awhile and never noticed that.
