Is this normal here?

Suddenly, I'm seeing a bunch of embedded ads here.



Is it just me, or something else?

WE do have ads on the site to pay for it. Were you logged in when you saw them? There are less ads when logged in than when you are not logged in.

I'm always logged on.

Run a malwarebytes scan just to be safe.

You shouldn't be seeing those if you are logged in...
Sometime browsers log you off..
do try clearing your cache, logging off & log in again to see if it replicates

go to http://nikonites.com/profile.php?do=editoptions#axzz2c61qAry1 and all the way to the bottom there is a option to turn off SkimLinks. That might be what you are seeing.

Changed it, logged off & on. Still there. It's not always the same word in a post. It's always some word in the top post.

It sounds like you have some link enhancement thing. Sometimes it's a type of malware, sometimes it's a plugin in IE or Chrome, and sometimes it's a program that you can remove from your ADD/REMOVE programs. For the last two you just have to identify and disable/remove. For the first one you need something that can find it and squash it. Try googling skimwords (carefully) and see what you get.

You probably need to flush your cache. {Ctrl} F5

Solution:

Firefox Add-ons > AdBlock Plus > Filter Preferences > Deselect "Allow Some Non-Intrusive Advertising".

A better solution would be:

Control Panel > Uninstall a program > Firefox
