I wonder how it got there. Seems it's not possible for me to moderate (delete) it. I wonder if jdeg has struck a deal with this company...

I don't see how it could be anything but deliberate; their username links to their website and they have a custom title.

I'm willing to play "wait and see" but wow. Just... Wow.

Well at least it's not a pop-up. You have the choice to open it or not. I think it's the pop-ups that we don't see when we become supporting members.

iI have absolutely no problem with this. It is a separate thread all by itself. It does not pop up or invade your reading space whatsoever, unless you deliberately click on it.

Yep. Still there.

I have yet to see one of these ads. Has anyone asked @jdeg about this yet? The only sponsored ad I see is in the far right column at the very bottom and I had to look for that one. All this may just be a database error that is not reading the contributor database correctly. I know John has been tweaking a few things so it is probably just a glitch. If his name links correctly here he should come over to check this post.

Don, it is a sponsored ad emulating a forum post. Do you see it in the original posters link?

I saw the post in this thread but have not seen one first hand yet. If someone does see one send me the exact link. I would like to see it

I see it now. I was thinking that was a screen shot but it is a post.

I have AdBlock Plus installed on my browser, and I don't think I've ever seen any ads on this site, other than that which is the subject of this thread. I see the “thread” showing up, anyway, but it gets blocked when I try to follow it.

AdBlock Plus has set some established rules for ads, and is set by default to allow ads that follow these rules. I happen to agree that these rules make perfect sense, and am OK with allowing ads to be displayed that follow them. I guess too many advertisers are unwilling to follow these rules, so I end up not seeing the vast majority of them.

Sounds like adblock is working as designed.

We just need an admin to chime in and let us know what's up is all :)
