New photo section?

I'm sure that many forum members don't have the available time to run a 365 thread, or perhaps they don't want to feel that they *have* to post something - even if it's not particularly special. I'd like to post in a 365 type thread where I can gauge my shots & get some feedback, but I'd only want to post when I have the available time & I feel that I have something worth posting. There's a lot of rubbish in with my shots at the moment!

Alongside the 365 section, perhaps we could have another section called something like "Occasional shots" (or a better name) for instance?

I just use the 365 section myself. It's a nice catch all.

If you notice the name of that section is "Project 365 & Daily Photos"

MAny of us including myself don't post everyday and only when we want to. That is perfectly OK. In fact I start a new thread when I go to a new camera so I can keep the separate. If you look at many of the threads there you will see that some people will use their name and something like "Once in a while when I feel like posting" That lets people know that it is not a 365.
Have fun and enjoy your time here. I would advise putting your name in the thread title though maybe like "Galactic Orbiting Robot Fotography" . Lets people know who you are and that this is your thread and not to post their photos in it.

Like Don, I too post in the Project 365 section but it's not an Official 365-Thread; that being the case I put :: Photos Occasional :: in the title. If I want feedback, though, I post the shot in the Feedback forum and specifically request it.

There are a lot of other things I do, just like Don, but that's because I'm trying to BE Don and... and... I think I've said too much.

I use the 365 section too, but name my thread "Occasional" or similar, so it doesn't get mixed up with the 365 threads. I always like to bowse the latest posts in the 365 area, so post away and lets see your work.

You really do need to get out more.

OK, if the mods are happy for post in the 365 section that aren't 365, then I'm good with that. I thought though that it would be nice to keep 365 as real 365 stuff. I 'd feel a little awkward posting occasional stuff in a section that's got real 365 people in there working hard at it. I feel that it would insult their hard work.

That's why it's good to name your 365 something other than let's say "Gorf's project 365."

I've just been posting in the appropriate "post your XXX here" threads. I never thought to post in one thread.
