In the critique section , it appears that one is supposed to allocate stars for various criteria,,
I put in a few comments, to see how that works , and cooperated with the 12 point criteria thing,
but all twelve don't really fit for every style of photo , so Im wondering why that requirement is there,,
and wonder if it could be arranged that a person desiring an opinion to actually request critique from a particular member ( or selected panel )
,,who is one who they feel would be an appropriate choice.(or something along those lines )
Generally speaking to ask for comment is one thing - and to get the response is entirely another,
and its yet a third thing to have supplied critique with good intent only to have garnered possible resentment.

Alternatively , the onus could be placed on the person posting the pic to be specific about what it is they want judgement on like ( is my butt too big ) :)

The issue for me with the stars sometimes is that the original poster has posted more than one pic, and therefore I cannot use the stars as I may think differently for each photo.

As for garnering resentment for critiquing, as long as you are factual and constructive in your critique, and also give praise for good elements, there should be no resentment. Critique should be treated as a learning experience, it can flag things the original poster may not have seen, give insight into why the composition isn't quite right, etc. The critique section may seem harsh at times, but there is no point asking for critique if you can't bear your work being dissected, and you wouldn't learn anything.

edited to add - it should of course be impartial critique, politley given (was originally rushing the post before I left work)
