Adding Attachments to PMs

I'm sure we've all run into this before, but in PM'ing someone is there a reason we can't attach a photo? I can link to something in the gallery, so why can't I at least link to something I've already attached in a previous post the same way I would using the Manage Attachments button on the Go Advanced editor? It would sure as heck make things easier, particularly when we're trying to put together the next weekly contest with the former winner.

Is what your are after the ability to access the File Upload Manager and add an image from the manager to a PM without uploading the image again?

I'm not 100% clear on what you're asking, so I'll put it this way. I would love the ability to attach a new image to a PM, but understand what that might mean in terms of storage on the server. So, knowing that, given that I've already attached images to threads from within the forum I would love to be able to reference them directly in a PM. Presently, when I use the Attach Image icon my choices are either to link from my gallery (which I find to be utterly useless except for this purpose) or link from a URL. Sure, I could probably go to the original thread, find my photo, drill down to the URL location, but again, it's a lot of work for something that should be relatively simple.

I've already spent more time wording this post than it's ultimately worth, but I wanted to know why it wasn't allowed.

Not quite as seamless, but you could save the link to the File Upload Manager, open it in a new window or tab, locate the image you are after, right click and copy image, then paste it into the PM.

I agree that having it built into the PM editor would be a plus, but the method described is only 2 more clicks, one to open a new tab or window and one to paste the image. The rest is nearly the same other than the right click copy as opposed to a click-drag-drop.

Just figured out how to access all of my previous attachments via the My Photos button in the lower left of the PM editor window. Never noticed it before. Different than the File Upload Manager, but works.

You know, I tried that earlier today to make sure there was no way when I posted it, but I didn't see that I could change off the gallery options. It shows them freakishly large making it a little difficult to navigate, but it's something. Thanks.
