I have to log in each time, even though Remember Me is selected. As always, I have cleared cache, history, and made sure there were no page blocking rules set.

When you login, and the "remember me" is checked...The site sets a cookie on your computer.

The next time you enter the site, it reads that cookie on your computer.

If it can't read the cookie... it prompts for a login.

The problem is not the web site, the problem is your computer... Something is preventing the cookie from being either written, and/or read...

Well, it has worked perfectly for months and now does not. I checked and all 20+ Nikonite cookies are there, including those involved with user ID, login/logout, and passwords. I guess I'll purge them and see what happens. As said, I have made no changes to FF controls and there has not been a recent update that may have done some mischief in the background.

Always has been. If I click on the email link to this post, I arrive logged in. If I open cold, I am not. I purged all the Nikonite cookies, re-opened and logged, closed and checked cookies. All were back as before, but I am still unrecognized. I think it is a plot. . .

Are you running virus or malware software? You might want to adjust the settings in your virus/malware software to "exclude" scanning the cookies folder on your computer...

Something on your computer is preventing the forum software from reading your Nikonites cookies...

Double check that you also have full read/write privileges to the cookies folder...

Yes, so I closed them and tried again: no joy. I disabled all FF add-ons: no joy. I changed my password: no joy.

I am on 15+ forums and this is the only one with a problem. I should also mention, in case it matters, that once logged in, I am not taken to the Forum home page, but to a vBulletin notice: "Invalid Redirect URL (http://www.nikonites.com/forum/)." Also, if I am logged in, as now, and open the forum in another tab, I am no longer logged in.

Try one other thing if you would ...

What happens when you try to go to http://nikonites.com/forum/ ... basically without the "www" in the URL? I know I've had this problem in the past, and it seemed to depend on how the link was set in the forum setup, and little things like adding or removing "www" could make a big difference on the cookies.

And the Rocket soars to the top! I changed the bookmark address and I am now logged in when opening. Something changed in the background somewhere, 'cause I did nothing between yesterday and today.

Every Computer runs the same program and Browser.

Just below the "user name" when you log in there is a "Remember me" box. Are you certain that you've checked it?

Apologies for the confusion. I upgraded something on the back end and actually had to turn off the thing that forces the url to remove www. That's what will cause anyone who accesses the site with www to not stay logged in. I changed it back, so it shouldn't happen again.
