My signature

First of all I hope I am posting this in the right place.

I notice that several members have the Camera and lenses they use at the end of their postings. I assume this is part of their signature. I can't do it it keeps saying my signature is too long. LOL I don't have that many lenses! I assume I'm doing something stupid. I just thought this may help when posting pictures. Can anyone assist please?

lol if only that were true Sparky! I've seen people with 5 or 6 items listed over 5 or 6 lines. As I said I assume I'm doing something very silly!

I don't know what the limit is but 480sparky is correct.
I had exactly the same issue, try reducing the number of lines and spaces in your signature. Its a bit like twitter with a limit on the number of characters allowed.

DaveT all I want to do is exactly what you do at the end of your post you have 7 lines of text itemising your equipment. Or is this something different to the signature?

I think that non contributing members are limited to a certain amount of lines/characters in their signature.

I think I remember @jdeg saying something about new members must have a certain number of posts before they can have a longer signature. I don't think it is a very high number though. ;)

Right, I have sorted out the payment (something I was going to do anyway so the kick up the backside was useful) I'll try now!

No, I don't think it has any affect. Here is a response by jdeg which indicates a necessity of at least 5 posts to have more than one line in a signature.

Since I gave jdeg a mention, he should be along when he has time and can answer your question. A mention is when you use the @ sign immediately followed by a member's user name. Member's receive a notification that they have been mentioned.

Nice to have you here, @Janey. ;)

Hooray! Thank you for your patience it seems that it was something to do with the number of postings I made. Sorted. As I said it was my stupidity! :p

The thing is @Janey you really don't know what you don't know and that doesn't fall under the tag of "stupidity".
Glad you got it sorted out.
