Like it? I'm not sure if I do yet, but it does decrease the vertical space on a page a whole lot, especially if you are on a page with a lot of single sentence comments!

Maybe there is some info that should always be available?

Would be great if there was a way to toggle the "more" button for users who might be restricting profile pics/signatures/etc, but I'm with Eduard and Hark that I like having the info there.

Okay, new option under http://nikonites.com/profile.php?do=editoptions "Always show member info in threads?"

That works for me! ;)

There are a few things in that column I could do without such as the blog info, awards, social, and achievements. I do like to see their camera info, location, experience, plus the number of posts tells me at a glance whether it is someone new or a seasoned Nikonite. If you are looking for ways of saving space, you might consider taking a poll to see which features people do/don't like displaying underneath their avatars. :)

Me as well, though I do wish having the option set to "No" (so as to NOT display the user info by default) didn't leave all the white space under the avatar.

Didn't using the button compact the page? I thought it did... And I liked that. But then I'm all for compacting generally speaking. In fact, I may go compact something right now just to get it out of my system.

Well, I have it selected, as far as I can tell, and I only see the MORE button on each post. I have closed out, purged, etc.

I just tested it again and everything appears to be working. Something is still caching on your system.

I don't think so. I have purged, in FF and manually, all cache and history. I have shut down and re-booted. I still have to log in on the home page (but not really) and I still see little grey MORE boxes.

Try clicking Save at the bottom of the page. I went there to reenable it, and it was already selecting YES by default, but it was not showing. But clicking Save made it work. Except still get one More box for likes.

I'm old fogy, I liked it better before.
